Ability, now there's something everybody tries to possess, demonstrate or maybe celebrate, if not in yourself, then others. Yup, abilities are handy to have and if one is lucky to have the right ones, they can be quite profitable, or have a profitability. Now this shows what happens when you grab one noun and stick it on the back of another, two nouns for the price of one, yeah yeah yeah like a bogo, but don't tarry here because there may be a point coming up, but then again don't get your hopes up because my points sometimes provoke head scratching. It seems to me that all you have to do is pick a topic...ummm senses, add ability(sometimes it might be ibilty, I can't control this stuff) and bingo you're in ...sensibility, or market...marketability and there are others. Also it seems that its usually used in a positive form, as if adding ility makes it sound.(?) But wait, corrupt would become corruptibility, and you can't have corruption without it, ,man this is getting way too deep for me, and so I must divert, or as is normal in this blog, revert.
In an earlier facebook posting I quoted from the Robert Burr Spoken English Dictionary, well fear not, that is still in print, and ever expanding, however; I feel that now would be the right time to cede all rights and authorities to B2BNN for they are better equipped to handle all the finer points of language and its misuse.---note to those who may not know, B2BNN is the title of this blogs' news division, and if the news director and field manager(me), can get the rest of the staff(me) to agree on what to cover and expound on things might happen. Anyway, it is without trepidation that B2BNN now has a Dictionary division, and that again means new appointments of editors and staff as I am a job creator. So...after going over the above logic dealing with language it seems imperative to the staff of the Dictionary division(me) that a unique melding of word suffixes and possibly prefixes is called for, and the newly titled B2B Spoken Dictionary is the place these words will call home.
Here's the deal...if something exists that would cause something else to react to it, it then has a value to that other object. Granted this isn't new thought as it applies to just about everything in life(simple example---a stone in a river makes the water flow around it). Let's work on that in our point of view....watching a cat make her way along a counter top, a counter top that has the usual trappings, trappings adjusted for PEOPLE use, not cats, watching her try to maneuver from one end to the other...oops a stumble and fall and here we go....stumble, the cat couldn't make it so she showed her stumblility...wasn't that easy. Continuing...this can also apply to saaay....movies, actually movies work doubly well here because....say a movie doesn't cut it, or you might say...stinks, well it now has garbageibility and so then as a rating system one could apply a garbageibilty rating, something like a little trash bag icon with wavy lines over it, say one line for bad but could be worse and five lines for get out the deodorizer. What's that, you want me to use it in a sentence, okay, fair enough...At nighttime leaving objects on the floor increases a persons stumblility level.
Enough of that, I hope you get the picture, well that picture anyways, because there are others. Again I sense a feeling of apprehension, understandable, but dare I say, needless. This is an old thought of mine, and it goes back to my school days and singularly Latin class. There are some of you that have heard this, but here it is. In Latin the plural form of some words is achieved by replacing the suffix us with an i, that part is easy. Now plural means more than one, more than one in most explanations, but maybe not in the B2B, in the B2B plural also means deeper or mayhaps more intent. Example? Well my point is the word ridiculous, if something is well beyond what are considered the boundaries of your normal everyday ridiculous, it is the plural of ridiculous, or ridiculi. See, it can work. Isn't it easier to say ridiculi than 'the utter ridiculousness'. Try saying them three times quickly and you'll see how the longer phrase increases the stumblilty of you tongue.
Sometime back B2BNN announced the start-up of a new format of reality show. Well the process has been stalled due to the ineffectiveness of the staff to gather up the required cast. It is with confidence that I can now say that improvements have been made and some adjustments in the staging have been decided on. It will simply be referred to as 'The City' and will mainly be a running, rambling of their everyday lives. The issue is, these people think they are going to be on your standard reality show, but we at B2BNN are just going to be following them through some of their normal days, with our special equipment that gets all the inside stuff. So far there's a family that's somewhat wealthy, a widowed mother who has remarried to a former athlete and they have a blended family, mostly hers and mostly daughters. Also a right wing talk show host and a family that hails from the hills. There will others along the way, but basically it will just be daily comings and goings in bursts, starts and stops so to speak. As always it will be unscripted, so...well we'll see.

Other blog--We got through another one
Well group, its come and gone. We were all forewarned and many of us were able to prepare for the onslaught and, if possible, evacuate to a sounder footing and avoid all the duress, but alas, most of us were unable to escape the rigors that were wrought. I am, of course speaking of the election and its outcome, pleasing to most and much less so to many others. I want to clear up any thoughts of bewilderment that may have arisen concerning coverage of this event by your stalwart news team at B2BNN . Believe me, we had a full team grasping at any available newsworthy event that reared up and found the task somewhat daunting. Now a short disclaimer- daunting tasks are not in themselves frighting (we at B2BNN relish the daunted), but in this instance the volume became overwhelming, so it was decided to wait until fruition, before plucking at all the juicy fruit out there.
Now this particular discourse was prompted by an old friend's posting, which cranked up my starter and I felt compelled to reply. He remarked on the election results and drew many responses, pro and con, so my input was- I've voted since 1968, almost every election has people screaming that the end is near, yet somehow the country perseveres--what an amazing place this America is. Started out as a place that decided that rule by a foreign monarch wasn't desirable, many disagreed, but we the people charted a new course. Fought it out over slavery and then endured an era where those of wealth thought they could simply do, well whatever (does that have a familiar ring?), found ourselves embattled in two World Wars, then stepped up to become the economic leader of the world (even though the marginal tax rate in the fifties was around 85-90%). Well there's more but the USA endured. So....if you feel that the last four years did more damage to our national well-being than the previous eight did, well opinions are what they are and you're certainly entitled to them, but you might want to just step back and take a gander and reflect, and then if you see no hope you are always allowed to abandon ship. See ya.- Now I do have a tendency to ramble, and since this wasn't my post, I felt brevity was needed, so things like the great depression and Viet Nam were omitted and yadaa yadaa yadaa.
Well this IS my blog so brevity is nonexistent(as you well know) and rambling is of the first order and points of discussion are at my discretion. These points of order being now in place we return to B2BNN and its summation of recent events, and once again we venture outside the box.
Just in case you haven't heard, Barak is back and Mitt is now thrown on the pile of those that sought the Presidency and...well...fell short. As it stands now, the Obama legacy is incomplete, so we traverse elsewhere. Mitt...the walking, talking Etch-a-Sketch, seven or eight months ago he was oh so right, and then add a little more right, time passes, positions change, vague solutions are offered-'details at eleven'-, but through it all one or two things seemed to hang around. He's a REALLY REALLY rich guy trying to convince Joe Everyman that he's really just like him and knows why Joe isn't doing better, but never said if Joe was a part of the 47%, that might have bothered some people. His rantings about his job creativity, some questions there, maybe he meant money counters. Okay...being wealthy is not evil nor is it wrong to develop an idea that brings wealth--kudos. There have been many wealthy politicians, but somehow this time it was bothersome.
Lets just work on one point, one of the ideas Mitt championed was privatizing certain government programs. Lets play a little game of What If(now you can fetch your game ideas from wherever you wish, I get mine from ...far)... What if Mitt won, and what if Mitt privatizes FEMA(as he proposed) It wouldn't take long for enough disasters to befall before money ran out and the company or companies involved would be gasping and looking for their own FEMA. So along comes something like Bain Capital, buying on the cheap, borrowing on any assets, granting bonuses for jobs well done, and then selling it off. What if a buyer shows up from ohhh the Far East, a company backed by a certain mainland government. Things look good for a minute or two and then....what if a Frakenstorm shows up and this new owner citing cost is somewhat ineffective in recovery actions and what if enough disruption causes monetary and political ramifications beyond repair...hmmm. Time to stop playing the fun is fleeting.
Well there you have it B2BNN was indeed on the job, a job that might not needed doing, but the unneeded is part of our job description, and hopefully we continue to improve.

other blog-Science-does it have a future in America?,ahThink back
Nostalgia, ah don't you remember it. Back before flights to the moon, StarTrek, even before the pill, it always makes one stop and maybe smile a bit, thinking of those times. Lets call them your own 'good old days'. Yes back to the time when science and medicine seemed to go hand in hand, building a better life for us all, research and advancements increasing knowledge, and we received benefits(and some misfortunes) that only a generation before, were unheard of. Think back to a time when not all cars had power windows and AC, when phones were attached to the wall and to change the volume or channel on a TV you had to get up and walk. Yup, 'good old days'. Science just keeps sciencing, and medicine just keeps medic....wait, enough of all this, I think we pretty much get the idea of attaining knowledge...pretty much, but there does seem to be some, well let's call them doubters, out there.
Okay now's the time to settle in and let the mind wander a tad, close your eyes(yeah, I know, science hasn't yet figured out how to close your eyes and read simultaneously, but I need some imagination here) and think of some of the various past and present hospital shows on television. ER, House or even back to St. Elsewhere or Marcus Welby, yeah WAY back, Okay think of some more, and try to think of the doctors concentrate, you're getting sleepy and the only thing you hear is a loudspeaker blaring...Dr. HOWARD, Dr, FINE Dr. HOWARD---DR. HOWARD Dr. FINE Dr. HOWARD--- yeah THOSE doctors, man all the patients were in good hands when they showed up, just feel the confidence. Nostalgia...feels warm and fuzzy.
Okay hang on to those memories and fling yourself forward to 2012. The country is immersed in election fever and science and medicine are not the cure, well not in some states anyway.Missouri, Indiana and Georgia all possess citizens that their politicians feel are best qualified for positions of government leadership.Men who show an amazing grasp of science and medicine.
Imagine yourself in the terrible position of having to need counselling and medical care after a sexual assault. You are in a medical facility and you hear on the loudspeaker Dr. AKIN Dr. MORDOCK Dr. BROUN , they arrive in your room and the treatment goes something like this:
" We heard what happened and hurried over. You're not pregnant are you, because another doctor told me you could stop it if you needed to. Your body has ways to stop it, I heard that from doctors, they know about these things, and ergo so do I."
"Well, not to worry, because if you are, its God's plan and that means you're okay. I mean God intended it so there you go."
"I know, for a fact, that all this science and medical stuff and evolution, all these came from Hell, so your're in good hands with these two, good hands. Not to worry."
Yup, these are three of the bright lights that are hoping to run your country, makes you wonder, how hard did they look to find these guys. It couldn't have been easy. That GOP, they load em up and fire away and we just try to stay out of the line of fire.
Now in all fairness its not just the GOP, yes that's right, the Dems dug one up, well he's already there. Frighteningly he's also from Georgia and already in Congress. Check out the video of Hank Johnson and how he's worried about Guam tipping over from too many troops or sailors or clouds or whatever...amazing. There must be something in the peaches or crackers.
Nostalgia, sometimes it befuddles the brain, like right now its got me thinking that smartest guys in the room might be Curley, Larry and Moe.

Branching Out
Well it seems to be happening again, an event overseas that the media, forever searching for that mega-story that will engulf the world in a frenzy, finally was able to sink their teeth into. A story that the world will sit on the edge of their collective seats, holding their collective breaths over. An event so breath taking that people can tsk- tsk over it and then maybe move along breathlessly awaiting the next big scoop. Of course I'm talking about the pictures of Duchess Kate sunbathing topless, OMG those royals. Here we are, the USA, all involved in a Presidential election, and there she goes drawing all this attention and diverting our attention (a span of which seems to shorten daily), away from important issues like empty chairs, or said chair's inability to argue, and who built that chair anyway? And of course there's a new Shore baby, so its seems that all the media hoopla earlier about Snookie's mothering abilities was worth all the effort after all. Yup, all the important stuff, we need it, and we need more of it, but more of that in a minute.
While sitting and musing, which leads to pondering,(or the reverse, take your pick, I run an open blog). I have often wondered what makes people pick a side, and then defend it through thick and thin. I mean it can be a sports team, or a public figure or even, dare I say it, a religion. I'm talking about something that as an adult, people will literally fight over, but when asked why they feel this way, the answer usually comes down to something like-"I just always have." Oh, I must add that this also applies to politics, as if no one thought of it. It just seems that people side with a party, no matter who's running or what they do (An exception is of course that medical wunderkind Todd Akin, the GOP couldn't get away quick enough). It seems to me that all people, regardless of affiliation, just stick with their party and whatever the party says, even though most people really lack the understanding of whatever their party rails on about.
Now lets settle into 2012. I think there might just be a different feel to this election. I don't feel that the two party system is providing the answers the populace is seeking. One party nominates a man that won't say what he plans to do, and the other guy really didn't step up for change, as he said he would. Then there's the Koch Baggers, oops, I mean Tea Baggers, let's see, Koch brothers-billionaires funding many Tea party events and pushing for less government intrusion, hmmm I wonder what their agenda might be? You gotta admit that the GOP has left themselves open to a few questions. I read a posting online about the murder of the U.S. ambassador in Libya, written from the right, within about ten or twelve words calling for marines to kill all the r__heads, yet they say the election isn't about race. Yup, no bigotry there. And Kansas, trying to get Obama off the ballot using the old birth noise, I thought Kansas was only corny in August. One last point, in 2008 the GOP's ticket was a head scratcher, but they lost, no harm no foul. But, if you ask a Republican if they voted for McCain-Palin and they say yes, I feel you have the right to question their standing as proper voters for offices of high rank. You honestly believe, and will defend your vote, that Sara Palin should be in line for the Presidency. I mean for eight years all we heard was how great W.(shudder) was, but now he couldn't even attend the convention, and then from nowhere they find Sara Palin and although nobody knew anything about her, the party members all rave and throw plaudits out like candy. Amazing. I know this sounds biased, but come on. I didn't agree will all Bill Clinton did, actually I've never found one politician that ever was totally satisfying, but he seemed better than the alternative. Maybe its time for a genuine third party. Sorry, one more thing. GOP-you want to reduce government spending on social programs, but not defense. Just how many of these billion dollar air-craft carriers do we need?
Up above I said....'more of that in a minute. Well minutes run long here, but now's the time. In an effort to stay abreast of or maybe adjacent to the modern media B2BNN is embarking on a new path, or well , branching out(ergo the title). Yes B2BNN has become something of a tree and will try to cover all that surrounds it. B2BNN has, after arduous negotiations, reached an agreement with a city to carry a new format of reality show. All the finer points are still in production, but my inside source tells me that it will involve various families in different areas of the city. Its not certain if theses families know each other, but judging from the early outline, it would seem that they've heard of each other. The new show is untitled, and the cast is not yet totally assembled, but suffice to say these things take time. A later blog will supply more info about cast and their lives. Maybe we'll just call it "The City". All right all right, one more tidbit. This city is large, millions. had different districts, many sports teams, public transportation, various ethnic areas, is a mega-tourist site and shall remain nameless for the purposes of this show. Just The City, and oh yeah, its usually awake.

Other blog-Dictionary...dichotomy uses
Here I sit weak and weary, toiled and troubled, trying hard to escape the endless prattle that will engulf us all from now until...well as long as politicians exist. This group of well paid and usually under performing windbags blather away, saying whatever sounds great to the group they're speaking to, and seldom are they asked to explain what they mean, or can any of what they say be proven. I know I know this is what they do and we, the governed, swallow it up like baby birds in the nest and beg for more, insatiable. This may be one of our great failings and I think the worst part of it is that it works every time. I have mentioned this before, so no doubt I'll say it again, but wouldn't it be something if they only spoke about issues in which they were actually fluent? All right all right, that's enough of that for now, you see I really have a somewhat different point, and it involves words-uses and meanings. So hang on, we might be going outside the box a little.
What I want to talk(some might say babble on) about is the way certain words have become ostracized when used in a political context. The first is liberal. Now first a little personal history-in 1964 I was an ardent Goldwater backer, that's right, a conservative. I was in high school and as is the wont of many a high schooler, I was pretty sure I had it all figured out. I read his books and it seemed to make sense, less government, less spending all of this to make a better life for residents of the land of the free. Yup sounded good,... he got clobbered in the election, but he provided the seeds for what had grown into the Reagan era, with whom I did not agree. Today these self-proclaimed wizards of conservatism rail on about what liberals want to do, as if liberal was a profanity. They say things like "LIBERALS want to give welfare to the homeless!" Or "LIBERALS want to take away your guns!" "LIBERALS think you should have socialized medicine!" The list goes on and on, but the issue isn't whether their point is valid, its about the liberal thing. Liberal and liberty both have the same roots, and I know it sounds trite, but this country was founded by Liberals-meaning a new different approach, as opposed to the old system, i.e. the monarchy. So when the neo-conservative of today rants on about liberals, what's he (or she) actually saying? If its about restricting the government, say so, if its about reducing spending, act responsibly. Actually, as to that first point, think back to W.(shudder) and the laws he pushed through about government watchdogs or whatever you call it, think its okay to have them listen to your calls? Ahhh...that's for another day.
Another word that these people spit out is Union. There seems to be quite a push to demonize unions. I understand that not everyone agrees about worker unions, and personally I think all should have the choice as to joining. BUT, anybody who lives in this country and considers themselves upwardly mobile middle-class, should know what unions have done to allow this. Coal miners, rail workers and many just common labor workers of the 19th century, literally fought to change working conditions and in turn allowed workers to enjoy a better quality of life. A simple example-Scrooge expecting Marley to work Christmas, way it was then, unheard of now. Granted, there are problems, but blaming unions for government budget shortfalls is not telling the whole truth. Basically its telling people the reason things cost more is because I have to pay that guy for something you might not have, but would like, so blame him and not me. There's all kinds of unions, they may not call themselves that, but they are. What's the AMA, or OPEC, or any PAC, any organization that forms up to promote a common interest . Like ohhh, maybe the USA.
There is one more that seems open to discussion, and this might require some that box stuff. Terror and its worker bee, the terrorist. A terrorist invokes terror, well duh, however; my point is from the idea of what is considered terror. Causing a great fear by going outside the bounds of what is considered normal life in such a way to cause great turmoil to society. Now we today tend to think of all terrorists as radical, suicidal maniacs who think nothing of causing great damage and death to anybody that happens to be in the area. Rightly so, these are terrorists, but, they did what they did for whatever their cause or belief is and think nothing of those affected, they feel that their actions are justified because of their beliefs. That would be the thinking inside the box, not my forte. Are not people who undertake criminal behavior to further their own profits also exhibiting terrorist behavior when it reaches the levels that it requires government involvement to sustain a nation's quality of life? A radical blows up a building and people demand government action, banks give mortgages to people, knowing that they will fail(I know this is an overly simplistic example of the whole problem, but hey, its what I do), and this forces the government to take action. These people knew what they were doing, they may not have thought it would go this far, but it happened by choice. Now why instead of treating these people as economic terrorists do they get rewarded. You know that it will happen again.
facbook So, blowhards do a lot of blowing and use words that will fire up the masses, exploiting the language as best they can, but it seems to me that while they're getting all puffed up the ones that are behind them gaining the most return from all this wind just keep watching their piles get bigger, Now there's a union.

21st Century Media- A New Hope
Well troop, here we sit, living our lives, muddling along as best we can amid the turmoil that froths and bubbles all around. To watch, listen or read the different media, one has to devote great blocks of time just trying to decide which information seems worthy to ingest, and then figuring if it has a use in your everyday life. And that's just the events that you want to see, what of all the gossip and goings on and other events that the media demands we suffer through. All right all right, I know Tom Cruise, Snooky, Lady Gaga, some Kardashians and all of that ilk are of great interest to many, but come on. Like I said, its what the media tells you to follow, and people do.
Now there really isn't an issue here because it is about choice anyway, and you always hear-"If you don't want to involve yourself, go somewhere else." Valid point, but, try finding a better option, it has its difficulties. For a quick point, have you heard or read of the Libor issue or I guess scandal? Maybe not, doesn't seem to be worthy, yet, give it time. Libor is something involving the rate that banks loan money to each other, and it seems they've kinda fudged the numbers, sometimes high, sometimes low and some big players are involved, big players. What, are you shaking your head in disbelief, didn't we just go through banking problems and it seems inconceivable that these worthies would be at it again, or maybe they never stopped. Whatever, that may be a different post, something more political. Not why we're here today.
Media, why do I often feel as though the questions I want asked, don't get asked. Or, wouldn't it be nice to know what some of the people questioned really think, basically politicians. Also, wouldn't it be nice to actually hear what is said behind closed doors? Well, (borrowing a line from Lewis Black) my little snowflakes, I've got something for you. Here at Bob2blogsBurr, in an effort to always stay ahead of the field and trying to provide constant insight on what I feel is important to expound on, we have expanded our media field. That's right expanded, the 21st century will no doubt explode the old ways of reporting news and in new techniques will continue to astound and amaze. Astound and amaze others but not us. Why? Well there's no different way to say this, so here goes. Bob2blogsBurr has formed a news reporting system, a system that elapses what is out there today, a system that is, to my knowledge, so far ahead of the cutting edge of media that others will be astounded and shaking in disbelief. Now first a working title, Bob2blogsBurr Network News is cumbersome, ergo; B2BNN, now what makes it earth shattering. Two things, both from the entertainment media with a little sci-fi thrown in, first we have developed an astonishing new technology based on insects, well flies, that's right we have a new system that allows us to insert these drone-like flies into certain pivotal points so we can actually hear all the good stuff, that's right, the proverbial fly on the wall. Pretty neat huh? Secondly, from Star Trek and courtesy of (well they don't know) the planet Vulcan,I your intrepid reporter, have learned the secret of the famed, and highly acclaimed, Vulcan mind-meld, now mind you it is tricky and only lasts for brief periods and may cause fatigue and possibly some emotional problems to those on the receiving end, but hey those people never concerned me much anyway.
In an effort to provide an example of these new technologies I have endeavored outward and found a likely suspect-- Oh here he comes now, entering his radio booth that highly regarded, for his deep thinking, by shallower thinking believers, that mega brain right winger- Speed Armbranch- let's listen in--"Well they've done it Mr. and Mrs. America, Obamacare seems to be here to stay. That means all these college sluts will be out there slutting around demanding free birth-control and then getting free abortions that you're going to pay for and after them all the illegal aliens will be having babies that you'll have to pay for and then send them to college and you have to pay for that too. And then when all the gays get married and ruin your family you'll have to pay for their health care and they'll demand free abortions and then when you see somebody wearing a hoodie you won't be able to shoot because they want to take away your guns. I'm telling you people we're on the brink and you....." okay you get the idea, so here we go, I'm trying a mind-meld---reaching out reaching..almost there...we're in....ahh ahh... I'm sorry there seems to be nothing there, mind-melds don't work in a vacuum.
Moving on....Presidents, past, present and wannabes, here comes one now. W. Here goes a mind-meld....almost...got him..."Yup, here I am at my ranch dum de dum la de dah I wonder if I'll ever get on Jeopardy, boy if they had Palin on I think I could win I got more on the ball than she...hey isn't that a plant or something? I see its got a stem, now why would some doctors want to take cells out of these stems and use them to..."gotta break off, its like I'm doing all the work here.
facebookSee how this works, wait here's Mitt, talking to some of his staff, lets send in a fly. "Sir you have to keep trying to act more like the common man, show that you relate. Also something about making jobs. ...Well maybe I could see if there's a union of operators for my car elevator, that way its jobs and it shows I'm a union backer." Now that calls for a mind-meld....okay I'm in...."Where do I get these guys ? I can see now that we've gotta tighten up the one per cent."... Man these guys, now the Man, and here he is I'm going in....its hard all the Secret Service around ...got him..."You know I think I like calling this Obamacare, got a nice ring to it, hey if they name it after me, that like makes me the salesman, I wonder if I could get a commission sales commissions pay pretty good so if I lose I'd still be all right, nah never work but man just think...." Whoa this is harder than I thought. Well that's enough for now, but you get the idea, so in the future its possible that if breaking news comes up on my watch B2BNN will be on the job.
Other Blog-Don't get me started
Well group, here we are all back together again blissfully headed through Spring, hoping that the mild Winter experienced in the northeast translates into a nice shining Summer that lasts until, oh maybe April 2013. Now for all that to occur it means we need to shove ourselves through a couple of seasonal events that for the most part seem to have a unique American tilt to them. Now now now don't worry I'm not trying to shorten up any one's fun time, first off I'm not talking about "The Holidays", nor the various sport seasons, who would want to deprive anyone of all that fun, not me I'm always up for a good time. Nope, the events we must brace ourselves for only occur every four years, and by golly, here we are. Yup you're right, Presidential elections, and that my friends is why this is listed under other blog, for there are goings on which not only defy logic, but seem to stretch to the extreme the limits of what I always thought defined political discussion.
Now the reason this qualifies as a season and not just a one night stand is not just because of all the wasted verbiage that leads up to the actual vote, but when all is said and done, the topics that seem to garner some sort of temporary importance really boggle one's mind. And this, folks, is why we're here.
If you remember my last forage, I tried to make connections relating to amendments, specifically within the Bill of Rights. Well, mount up because its time for another ride. Once again this may be outside the box, but hey its what I do.
Assembly... I've looked for a proper defining term, i.e. how many are needed for an assembly, you can pick a number but I want two. I saw a legal writing that said something about an illegal assembly of three, ergo two must be legal.
Marriage...the uniting of two people into a close union...making them legally a partnership.
Now that pesky old Bill of Rights. Last time out we dealt with the second amendment and the right of citizens to have a militia and to arm themselves to form such a militia. This time we deal with the first amendment...the government shall pass no law that will infringe on the citizens right of peaceable assembly...uh oh... let's see, some people live together, never marry, buy property and raise children, some people live together, marry, buy property and raise children. Now if one person joins legally with another, is that not an assemblage (if you by chance, find say, a Fisher-Price two piece child's jigsaw puzzle, don't you assemble the pieces to make one picture?) So, if two people want to join in a peaceable assembly, it seems to me the Bill of Rights allows this...no demands this.
The first amendment also deals with religion and that old American favorite, free speech, free press and freedom to express grievances to the government. All that being said, if two people choose to announce their lifestyle preference, and wish to form an assembly to further their life choices, it would seem the first amendment not only supports them but also offer legal protection.
Now you may have noticed that in all the above ramblings I never mentioned what sex was having all these assemblies, and why not you say? Well, its really not necessary, since we're talking about the U.S. Constitution and you know what? That subject never comes up(well not til later over voting rights). The whole point is this country was founded upon the simple belief in freedom of expression. You may also notice that in the Bill of Rights, the amendment regarding these basic freedoms is the first amendment, the rest follow. Legally it seems they all bear the same weight, but in drafting all this paperwork( the Bill of Rights was added after the Constitution was written as many of the founders demanded something that expressed these rights and freedoms or they wouldn't sign), maybe it was felt these rights were foremost.
So, what is the point here? I hope I arrived at one. The issue that drove me here is the time and effort wasted on discussions that really shouldn't be political.I'm not going into party platforms(not this time) or if one party supports a lifestyle or not (not this time), or even who should pay what taxes and how (not this time). The question I guess is simply, what difference does it make to anybody else, if two people choose
to marry, and why should it rise to the level of Presidential politics? I have asked people who allow no discussion on the issue of same sex unions, what they mean when they say it will destroy the American family, and I never hear anything close to a sensible response. I don't see their problem, I don't get their problem and mostly, I don't want their problem. This is America, specifically the United States of America, built on certain beliefs that morphed into certain freedoms allowing its citizens rights unattainable in many other nations. So it seems the point is, as an American I believe its simple, people have the right of lifestyle choice, now don't blame me for thinking this, as an American I was born this way.

other blog connect-disconnect
I can't help but wonder what kind of frenzy I created by naming my blog site Bob2blogsBurr. There no doubt is a great clamoring, a buzz if you will, "2blogs? What could the other blog be?" Point well taken and please allow me to quiet the unrest. Blog 1 deals with musings, a little whimsy or serendipity if you will, just stating my viewpoint on whatever grabs my fancy at any time on any day. I may feel inclined to revisit some past postings , especially the pre-blog ones, to help further clarify the issue that so demanded my attention at that moment, also it seems that my writing style (regarding paragraphing) has drawn some attention, let's deal with that right
here, and if some are curious as to my enumerating certain rules of life that I espouse, well they're still rules, they're still out there waiting to be exposed and hopefully their day will come. Anyway, that's blog the first, light, airy and I can only trust that when writing it all my meanderings lead to an understandable point. Blog 2 however will tend to be something a little different, uh oh, I can feel the hesitation in the air, please, please relax, all I'm saying is that this blog will have a different feel to it, dealing with things more political or other issues that seem to command the attention of the larger media and then drive the American populace to the edge of madness. There are countless issues that keep popping up, that aren't really political, but somehow by the time sanity sets in, the country has been driven to an uproar. Some things need to be settled in Congress and some things don't, and I always feel confident that our well compensated, and well cared for agents of the people will step in the right direction, sort out the chaff and harvest the good and necessary values that propel
America forward. All right now that we're all on the same page let's try to touch on the actual purpose of
the title of this, the other blog. Its been mentioned to me from time to time that I don't always verbalize
in a way that elicits understanding to those to whom I'm speaking- a co-worker once characterized me as "thinking outside the box"- maybe so, but who built the box to tell any of us where to think? Anyway, have you ever noticed that there seems to be a grammatical movement to make words that are nouns verbs and adjectives nouns and so forth? Well I'm making connect a noun, disconnect is already being used as a noun so why not connect, here we go, I know, I know, we already have connection covering this, but if talking heads can say "There seems to be a certain disconnect here", I say "does anybody see the connect here?" I understand that this would seem superfluous, but if certain ideas can have a disconnect, my goal is to maybe show a connect. You may have to pay close attention here, things might get murky-I, as a native born American, have always regarded the U.S Constitution as somewhat remarkable, haven't really thought about it much, knew it was there, knew it gave me certain rights that most people of the world don't even consider and from watching Law and Order knew about search warrants and some writs about whatevers and of course probable cause, all that being said , the point is ITS THE CONSTITUTION, THE WHOLE THING NOT JUST PARTS OF IT. Now by accepting it in its entirety, this sets forth all sorts of pandemonium from some that parade around about the first or second amendments etc.(No one worries about the third anymore). Again its not about one part, its about the whole, but let's look at #2 (I see the steam rising already). This country was formed by a revolt, then a little trial and error, finally led to the U.S.A. based on a piece of paper that's held up pretty well, I'm sure no one needs a history lesson so I won't try, but in those times the fear of incoming enemies was still vibrant and having an armed populace seemed a necessary precaution, set America apart from the rest of the world, still does. Personally, I don't hunt, or target shoot or any of that, however; in America those that choose these, may. Why? Second amendment that's why, its in there so I have have no problem. Okay got all this? Now comes the connect thing-the amendment says first that in order to provide a well armed militia the citizens have the right to bear arms, fair enough, many people feel that it is their duty to comply and bear several, seemingly safer if all could be borne at once. Remember the part about the whole Constitution, well Article 2 says that the executive of the nation, President if you will, also bears the title of commander-in-chief of armed forces including the militias of the states, if called, my question then is this-doesn't this make the President the commander of all who bear arms, for they are armed in order to fill the aforementioned militias? See it calls for a certain connect, that may when all is said and done be outside the box. Just one more minor point about what is in or not in our Constitution, three time in the 1790's congress passed laws that forced people to buy or own certain items, one of which was health insurance for sailors, I know, I know it sounds unreal, but two bills signed by big George himself and one by Adams, both recognized framers and founding fathers, so this noise about it never being done before seems moot. (I saw it on Current TV's Elliot Spitzer show, he had some fancy Ivy League professor on explaining the history of it and he admitted he didn't find them but they are there). Funny isn't it that our leaders battle on about OUR benefits from the government while THEY receive the best healthcare out there (did any of you vote on their plan?) . Now if you really want to hype-up your blood pressure, check out the Congressional pension plan, really top shelf, nothing but the best for them because after all they always do what's best for us. Okay now you've seen 'the other blog' and what it denotes, so maybe next time it shows up you'll be armed and ready .

Life rolls...basketballs bounce
Here we are, nothing better to do than read what some unpublished, and shall I say unrepentant, naysayer offers as his view of life. But I say this, there are questions to be asked, answers to be sidestepped and loopholes to explored, so who better? Everyone is qualified to pontificate, (we're going to ignore Rome on this) I've already discussed this, no need to revisit. What to offer up then? hmmm....well it seems that as I have navigated my way through this life there are certain things that made me stop, pause, ponder and either ignore as too much trouble, or of no discernible value to me, then hopefully move on. Now all the things that are ignored aren't necessarily left behind, they attach and sometimes enrich unintentionally or may become parasitic and cause all kinds of trouble later. That's not where we're going here, maybe another time, my direction is towards something in my life that I never attained and I'm making up for it here. Lots of people I know and read about seem to have letters behind their names, you know L.L.D.'s and M.D.'s and B.A.'s, M.A."and P.C. and, well you get the idea, I have none...not anymore. Here"s the deal, today right now, I am officially bestowing on me the title of Ward, and not just any Ward, but Ward of Highest Attainable Title Based Upon Living Life. Now being a Ward doesn't just happen, you earn it and since I'm the one doing the bestowing I'm the one who designates who's a Ward and who's not so no calling dibs or anything. What's that? Do I hear headscratching and are those looks of befuddlement I see? Oh unsure of the actual meaning of Ward and no doubt yearning for a clear understanding of this achievement, very well. A Ward is not an award, oh no no no, but one can be awarded a Ward, like me. Let me explain, A Wardism is simply stating something that just seems so obvious to all who hear except the person to whom you are directly speaking. Clear? Now this is all based on the wise offerings of perhaps the most famous Ward of all time, that's right the unforgettable Ward Cleaver. How many times did old Ward have the right answer, based often on his own childhood, when poor June seemed to be at a loss in understanding whatever Wally and the Beaver were up to. "You know June when I was a boy..." and so on. You'd watch the show, Ward would speak, June would have this look of baffled amazement followed by an understanding nod...You watch, you think "well duh" and then the music would play and all was right for another week...That's what I'm calling a Ward, and since most of what gets written here is pretty obvious it seems apropos . Maybe another time we'll talk about Juneism, but for now here it is ....Robert A. Burr.. W.H.A.T. B.U.L.L.

Life Guidelines... another step
Welcome aboard...I've decided that instead of imposing my, may I say, personalized view of various impediments of the world, on all of my Facebook friends and acquaintances, I'd open a blog and anyone who wants to bother, well here it is. Once before I opined on certain rules of life mainly 1) if something is broken and can't be fixed with a hammer its not worth fixing and the follow-up 2) if somethings not broken don't fix it. Now it would seem to go without saying that these are quite obvious, but as we all know sometimes the obvious, and lets say simple, is sometimes well just too obvious and simple. An example you say, hmmm...well for 1) how about the U.S. tax code, now I won't say that it was ever perfect, but back about forty or so years ago there were different rates based on income and the same with deductions. Never ideal but the little guy had a fighting chance and the people on top seemed to pay proportionally, nobody ever likes paying taxes, but the game was played and the government seemed to have enough. Along came the seemingly sainted Reagan and then Bush I. The code had to be changed, why you say, too hard to figure out and too many loopholes, so the bright lights that guide our ship of state decided they knew better and lowered the highest rates and eliminated some deductions (the ones that I miss most were interest on credit cards and sales tax). Then Bush II showed up and ...man I shudder just remembering his time...more changes, well the idea is, if you're going to fix the tax plan that funds the good old U.S. of A. get out the hammer smash it and try something different, maybe the Fair Tax I don't know, maybe they should have left it alone. As for 2) how about Coca Cola with their new formula, how'd that work out?
Enough on 1) and 2), lets move on, 3) would seem logical , but hey, that's not why we're here. I read various inputs and comments around the web and in the papers and after a bit I must stand up (metaphorically) and exclaim..."Will you people grow a brain!" I mean come on. Lets do a little paraphrasing, first Mark Twain-
"Tis better to remain silent and let the world think you a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt" or something like that and now one of my favorites, something I call bi-lingual strategy, with apologies to Rene Descartes,
"Cognito ergo Jn'est sais pas"(trans,- I think therefore I don't know, pardon my French). If you say "I think" what you're not saying is "I know". So, ergo. what this all leads up to is something I'd always numbered a little higher, maybe 4) or 5), if you don't know about a subject and someone asks you about it, can you just say "I don"t know", how much wasted breath and energy gets spent by people rambling on about issues that they "think" they comprehend more clearly than all of the rest of us. I know I know, opinions matter to those expressing them, and everybody is entitled to them and, this is very important, there are NO wrong opinions, but please remember, it is only your opinion, everybody else's is just as valid. Would you respect a politician more or less for saying "I really don"t know " especially if followed by "Let me find out and then we'll talk",I know I know it'll never happen but man can you imagine.
And so in conclusion, always wanted to say that and imagine the cheers that would erupt, it seems that I have opinions and I'm not waiting for someone to ask me what they are, I may just state the obvious, but I hope that once in a while I state the truth.
Enough on 1) and 2), lets move on, 3) would seem logical , but hey, that's not why we're here.
